Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday convened a high-level security council meeting at the State House, Marina, to review security arrangements ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state and the expected surge in activities during the end-of-year period.

The meeting was confirmed in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso. According to the statement, the governor received detailed briefings from security chiefs on current operations and plans to strengthen safety across Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu assured residents and visitors that the state government remains committed to preventing criminal activities and protecting lives and property. He emphasized that security agencies would continue to work diligently to stop criminals from operating freely in the state.

Omotoso noted that Lagos will host President Tinubu starting Tuesday, with several official activities planned during the visit. The state is also preparing for the traditional increase in movement and gatherings during the Yuletide season, including religious and cultural events.
