Kano Pillars delivered a dominant performance on Sunday, thrashing Doma United 4-1 in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 4 clash at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The victory marked Doma United’s first defeat of the season and extended Kano Pillars’ unbeaten run. The home side, nicknamed Sai Masu Gida, controlled large parts of the contest and clinically converted their chances.
Goals came from Abdullahi Musa, Rabiu Ali, Ahmed Musa, and substitute Nasiru Salihu. Doma United managed a consolation through Sadiq Rilwan in the second half.
Technical adviser Daniel Ogunmodede was pleased with the result and the manner of the win. Speaking to the club’s media after the match, he highlighted the importance of preparation:
“We expected a tough game because they have gone three matches unbeaten with nine points and never conceded but we prepared very well for them. Not playing last weekend gave us an ample opportunity to prepare more for them and no doubt, you could see they gave us a tough time.”
