JAMB has extended the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from 2021 to 2025. Accept or reject on CAPS by November 30, 2026, or risk the offer reverting to “Not Admitted.”

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates holding outstanding admission offers from the 2021 to 2025 admission exercises.

Affected candidates now have until 30 November 2026 to accept or reject those offers on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

The extension was announced following a temporary disruption that left CAPS unavailable for approximately 96 hours. JAMB stated that the extra time gives candidates a final opportunity to update their records after the earlier September 30, 2026 deadline.

What happens if you do nothing?

Any outstanding offer that remains neither accepted nor rejected after 30 November 2026 will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” on JAMB’s records. Requests to update such records after the deadline will attract the applicable penalty fee.

Who is affected?

This applies specifically to candidates who received admission offers during the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025 admission exercises but have not yet accepted or rejected them on CAPS. It is not a general extension for the current (2026/2027) admission cycle or for Post-UTME processes.

What you should do now

1.  Log into your JAMB CAPS account via the official portal (efacility.jamb.gov.ng or the CAPS section).

2.  Check for any outstanding admission offer.

3.  Carefully review the institution, course and other details.

4.  Select Accept or Reject before the deadline.

5.  After accepting, proceed to print your admission letter if available and follow any further instructions from the institution.

JAMB has urged candidates not to wait until the final days. Technical issues or high traffic closer to the deadline could prevent successful action.

Why the extension was granted

JAMB had previously set a September 30, 2026 deadline (itself an extension from an earlier August date). The recent CAPS outage prevented some candidates from accessing their dashboards, prompting management to approve November 30, 2026 as the final window for the 2021–2025 outstanding offers.

Important notes

•  Accepting an offer allows you to print the admission letter and regularise your status.

•  Rejecting clears the offer and returns the status to “Not Admitted.”

•  Candidates who are no longer pursuing the earlier offer (for example, those who later gained admission elsewhere) should still take action so their records remain accurate. Accurate admission records are important for processes such as NYSC mobilisation.

•  Always use the official JAMB platforms. Avoid third-party agents who promise to “fix” CAPS issues for a fee.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the final deadline?

Yes. JAMB has described November 30, 2026 as the final opportunity within the current window for these outstanding offers.

What if I already accepted an admission in a later year?

Check CAPS carefully. Older outstanding offers may still appear and require action.

Will late requests be possible after November 30?

They may be considered but will attract the applicable penalty fee, and success is not guaranteed.

For the most authoritative information, monitor JAMB’s official website and verified social media channels. Candidates are strongly advised to complete the accept/reject action as soon as possible.
