About the song

“B4 B4” is a standout collaboration from Davido’s sixth studio album Oriadé, released on 31 July 2026 via DMW and Sony Music. The album, whose title draws from the Yoruba words for destiny/head (“ori”) and crown (“adé”), marks 15 years of Davido’s career and is his most concise project to date at 13 tracks.

The song reunites Davido with Mayorkun (whom he signed to DMW in 2016) and brings in rising artist FOLA. According to Davido, the track began as a Mayorkun and FOLA record; Mayorkun invited him to contribute a verse, after which Mayorkun offered it for Oriadé. It nearly missed the final tracklist until a team member pushed for its inclusion.

Produced by Fresh VDM, “B4 B4” is a lively Afrobeats track that mixes Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba, and English. It centers on attraction, confidence, and commitment, with an infectious “Before, before” refrain. The chemistry between the three artists—established star, former signee, and newer voice—gives it energy and familiarity while fitting the album’s reflective yet celebratory tone.

The official music video, directed and shot in Lagos, leans into Nigerian cultural elements, including Adire textiles, traditional accessories, and communal scenes. It has been noted for celebrating local heritage alongside contemporary style.

“B4 B4” quickly became one of the album’s commercial highlights, topping Nigerian charts for multiple weeks and drawing strong streams and airplay.
