Apple has officially made Apple TV available in Nigeria for the first time, nearly seven years after the service launched globally in 2019. Instead of offering it as a standalone subscription, Apple has bundled Apple TV and Apple Arcade into its paid iCloud+ plans, starting at ₦1,300 per month for the 50GB tier.
This change is part of a wider rollout covering more than 100 countries and regions. In Nigeria, standalone Apple TV and Apple Arcade subscriptions are being discontinued. Existing subscribers will be moved to the new iCloud+ system while keeping access (and game progress in the case of Arcade).

What’s Included in the ₦1,300 Plan
The entry-level iCloud+ subscription now gives Nigerian users:
• 50GB of iCloud storage (for photos, files, and backups)
• Full access to Apple TV’s original series and films
• Apple Arcade (200+ ad-free games with no in-app purchases)
• Family Sharing (up to five additional family members)
• Apple Music Select (curated ad-free stations)
• Other iCloud+ features such as Private Relay, Hide My Email, and more
Higher storage tiers (200GB, 2TB, etc.) also include the same entertainment and gaming benefits at higher prices.
Price Comparison with Other Streaming Services
At ₦1,300, the bundle undercuts Netflix’s cheapest Mobile plan (currently around ₦2,500) and is significantly cheaper than higher Netflix tiers.
However, the libraries are very different. Apple TV focuses on a smaller, high-production selection of Apple Originals (shows such as Severance, Ted Lasso, and others), while Netflix offers a much larger catalogue that includes extensive Nollywood and local content.

For users who already need extra iCloud storage, the addition of TV and Arcade makes the plan more attractive. For pure streaming needs, value depends on how much someone cares about Apple’s specific titles.
Can Android Users Access It?
Yes. Android users can download the official Apple TV app from the Google Play Store or watch via a web browser at tv.apple.com. No Apple device is required to stream the shows and movies.
However, the rest of the bundle is less useful on Android:
• Apple Arcade games are not available on Android.
• iCloud storage and syncing features are primarily designed for Apple devices.
In Nigeria, where Android holds the large majority of the mobile market (around 80%+ according to recent Statcounter data), many people will mainly get value from the Apple TV streaming portion alone.
Who Benefits Most?
• iPhone/iPad users who already pay for (or need) iCloud storage get the biggest upgrade — TV + games essentially come as extras.
• Android-only users interested only in Apple shows can still subscribe, but they won’t use the full package.
• Families can share the plan, which improves the per-person cost.
Apple is also offering discounted full Apple Music access (₦1,500 individual / ₦2,500 family) to iCloud+ subscribers.
