Troops of Sector 6, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have successfully detained three Fulani men in Plateau State in connection with the death of a farmer in Riyom Local Government Area.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed that the arrests occurred on September 13, 2026, during a targeted raid on Baggat and Shong 2 Fulani hamlets in Bachi community, Riyom LGA.
This action was part of a vigorous manhunt following the farmer's death in Fang community on September 12.
The suspects identified are Anas Usman, Nuhu Mohammad, and Haruna Ahmed.
"While they are not definitively the killers, their detention is a strategic measure to pressure local Fulani leaders into cooperating with security agencies and identifying those truly responsible,” Makama emphasized.
The suspects are currently in custody, with investigations underway to gather further intelligence.
