Nollywood filmmaker and actress Toyin Abraham has officially confirmed that popular rapper Reminisce will take on a lead role in her forthcoming cinema project, Bestie. The announcement, shared on her social media channels, has generated excitement among fans ahead of the film’s nationwide theatrical release on December 16, 2026.
Abraham described Reminisce as the “GOAT of all GOATs” and revealed that he will portray the character of Kazeem (also referred to as Alaga Big Star). In her post, she praised his energy and performance on set, noting that he “came, saw, and brought the house down.”
Securing Reminisce was no quick process.
Abraham later disclosed that it took her six months to convince the artist to return to acting. This came after a fan expressed enthusiasm about seeing him on screen again following his memorable appearance in King of Boys. Abraham explained that Reminisce had been reluctant to act again after that project, but she remained determined. She expressed satisfaction with the outcome and his work on the Bestie set.

Bestie continues Abraham’s track record of assembling strong ensembles for her December cinema releases. The cast already includes veteran actors Pete Edochie as Papa Ngozi and Sola Sobowale as Mama Ngozi.
Additional confirmed names include BBNaija Season 10 winner Imisi as Suzy Baby and comedian Lizzy Jay as Kaffy. Other performers reported in the production include Maurice Sam and Yakubu Mohammed.
The December 16, 2026 release positions Bestie among Nollywood’s expected festive-season offerings, a period that traditionally sees heightened cinema attendance. Abraham has built a reputation for high-profile December titles in recent years, and the gradual unveiling of this cast has kept interest high.
Reminisce’s involvement stands out because of his primary identity as a music star and his relatively selective approach to acting roles.
His previous work in King of Boys demonstrated crossover appeal, and his return after a lengthy gap adds another layer of anticipation for audiences.
As the release date draws closer, further details—including the official trailer and additional cast or production notes—are expected. For now, Abraham’s persistent effort to bring Reminisce on board underscores her commitment to assembling a notable lineup for Bestie.
