Shakira & Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” Becomes First 2026 Track to Surpass 1 Billion YouTube Views

Shakira and Burna Boy’s collaboration “Dai Dai,” the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has become the first track released in 2026 to surpass 1 billion views on YouTube.

The official music video crossed the billion-view mark in early-to-mid September 2026, roughly three and a half to four months after its release in mid-May 2026. According to Billboard, the achievement places the video among the faster music videos to reach the milestone, and it marks Shakira’s seventh entry into YouTube’s Billion Views Club while serving as Burna Boy’s first.

“Dai Dai” blends Shakira’s signature Latin-pop energy with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats influence. The multilingual track (featuring English, Spanish, and other languages) was designed as a stadium anthem and supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, with a portion of royalties directed toward education and football opportunities for children.

Beyond the YouTube landmark, the song has delivered strong commercial results. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (holding the top spot for multiple weeks), topped YouTube’s Global Top Songs chart for extended periods, and achieved high placements on various national and streaming charts. Shakira and Burna Boy also performed the track at the World Cup opening ceremony and during the final’s halftime show.

The rapid rise of “Dai Dai” continues Shakira’s long association with FIFA World Cup music (following hits such as “Waka Waka”) and further elevates Burna Boy’s position as one of Africa’s leading global music exports.
