The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has attributed its current cohesion and organisational success to the continued support and leadership of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Professor Sandy Onor, the party’s presidential candidate.
Speaking in a message to mark five years in office for members of the State Executive Committee who were returned for another term, the state chairman, Venatius Ikem, said both leaders have provided opportunities for party members to serve in various capacities.
Ikem described these opportunities as valuable experiences that have shaped the political journeys of many members and encouraged their continued service to the party. He congratulated the committee members, acknowledging the challenges, experiences, and sacrifices that have defined their period in office.

According to the chairman, despite the difficulties encountered, members have remained committed to the PDP and have continued to work together to keep the party’s flag flying in Cross River State. He emphasised that every responsibility undertaken by members — regardless of its size or status — contributes to the collective strength of the organisation.
Ikem noted that the State Executive Committee is united by a shared spirit of struggle, sacrifice, and service. The experiences gained over the years, he said, have enriched members and strengthened the relationships formed during their journey.
The committee also expressed gratitude to God for the challenges faced, stating that those experiences provided valuable lessons and brought members into contact with people who made meaningful contributions to their lives. They thanked party members, supporters, and stakeholders for their encouragement and support, while congratulating all members on the anniversary.
This message comes against the backdrop of ongoing efforts by the Cross River PDP to maintain internal unity as the party prepares for future electoral contests. Wike, a prominent national figure within the PDP structure, and Onor, a former senator and the party’s presidential standard-bearer, continue to be cited by state leadership as key sources of guidance and motivation.
