Nigerian Afrobeats artist Barry Jhay has released a new collaborative single titled “Pami,” teaming up with ZiiBeats. The track continues his run of melodic, culturally rooted music and arrives as a standalone release following his 2026 album Barrystar, Vol. 2.
Barry Jhay (born Oluwakayode Junior Abdul-Qudus Balogun) comes from a notable musical lineage. His father was the late Fuji pioneer Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, and his grandfather was the respected Jùjú musician I.K. Dairo. This background shapes much of his sound: a blend of contemporary Afrobeats and street-pop with strong Yoruba phrasing, emotional delivery, and themes that often touch on life, resilience, faith, and personal connection. He broke through in 2018 with the single “Aiye,” which explored the cyclical nature of life, and later earned recognition including Rookie of the Year at the 2019 Headies. Projects such as Barry Back (2020) and the more recent Barrystar albums have solidified his place in the Nigerian music scene with a style sometimes described as soulful and culturally grounded.
ZiiBeats functions as a pan-African collaborative platform and production imprint associated with Ziiki Media. It focuses on bringing together artists and producers across the continent to create accessible, cross-border releases that highlight African musical diversity. The “Pami” collaboration fits this approach by pairing Barry Jhay’s distinctive vocals and songwriting with polished production support.
“Pami” is a smooth Afrobeats/Afro-fusion record built around melodic hooks, a relaxed yet infectious groove, and Barry Jhay’s expressive, heartfelt vocal performance. Descriptions of the track highlight its easy-going instrumentation and focus on affection and personal connection, allowing the melody and delivery to take centre stage without overcomplication. It sits comfortably within Barry Jhay’s established catalogue while giving listeners a concise, radio-friendly offering after his longer album project earlier in the year.
The single is available now on major digital platforms. Listeners can stream it on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and other services. Official availability ensures artists and rights holders are properly supported.
Barry Jhay continues to build a body of work that balances personal expression with broad appeal in the Nigerian and wider African music landscape. “Pami” adds another accessible entry point for both longtime fans and new listeners exploring current Afrobeats releases.
