Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully detained two individuals suspected of supplying logistics to terrorists and intercepted a significant shipment of motorcycle spare parts believed to be intended for Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Yobe State.
The arrests took place on Tuesday at Gumsa Bridge in Geidam Local Government Area, following reports about the movement of supplies that may have been aiding terrorist activities around the Yunusari-Mobbar area.
The military, working in collaboration with security partners and the 159 Battalion under Sector 2, carefully intercepted the shipment during a patrol.
Among the recovered items were motorcycle tyres, crankshafts, oil seals, traffic indicators, acceleration and clutch cables, bearings, brake components, gaskets, piston kits, chains and sprockets, speedometers, clutch plates, rocker arms, CDI units, coils, rectifiers, and other motorcycle parts. The military also recovered 145 pairs of footwear and two Tecno Android phones.
The suspects and the recovered items have been handed over to the 27 Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation.
The military emphasized that this operation aims to weaken terrorist logistics networks and prevent insurgents from acquiring the supplies they need to carry out their harmful activities.
They also urged residents to keep sharing timely, reliable information with security agencies so we can work together toward a safer, more secure Northeast for everyone.
