The police in the FCT command have rescued a newborn baby girl found inside a carton abandoned along the road in Gwarinpa, Abuja.
This marks the third incident of an abandoned baby being discovered within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in just two weeks.
The latest case was found in a garbage dump near the Kubwa Area Council, raising concerns about the rising trend of children being abandoned or left vulnerable in the community.
SP Joseph Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, expressed his alarm over this disturbing pattern and emphasized the urgent need for community vigilance and intervention.
He also urged members of the public to come forward with any useful information that could assist the police in identifying and locating the child's family members, to ensure the child's safety and well-being.
